Office 12 technical preview

I’ll be on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington the next four days, attending a technical preview conference about “Office 12,” the next version of Microsoft Office. Yippee. I’ll be taking pictures of as many geeks as possible.

Update: I just saw an overview of the new GUI for Office and their new thinking in interface components. With no expectations going in, let’s just say that I was floored by what I saw. I’ve bellyached for years that, for all their releases of Office, Microsoft never really brought anything new to the table. Well, this time, I think, they really have. Office 12 is very different, and far more of a pleasure to use. Well done, Microsoft! Never thought I’d hear myself saying that.

    links from Technorati(although Outlook 2003’s UI was a big step from earlier versions). Excel and Powerpoint look really cool, and Outlook has some amazing new task and calendar related features that are going to save me ridiculous amounts of time and effort.
